Live Jazz In The Open Air - Leeds

August 01, 2020 - 06:49 AM - 187 views

We have had the following information from Jazz Leeds :

Live jazz continues at Seven Arts Leeds - we're putting on live (socially distanced) jazz in the open air at Seven Arts courtyard featuring the best of  jazz from the great city of Leeds and of course the bar will be open. On Sundays you can buy street food at the cafe too.

Before we tell you about the gigs though, just a plea from us. Running these socially distanced gigs is new to us and to the staff at Seven Arts. They are weather dependent and the courtyard is only a small space with a limit of 30 people at a time. The staff at Seven Arts may ask you to sit inside the venue (socially distanced of course) until a seat becomes available outside - if they do, please do as they say. We want the music to continue for everybody's sake. We're the only jazz club operating with a live audience in the UK, so lets not lose it.

Washboard Resonators  - Sunday Aug 2, 1.30-3.30pm: Jazz, ragtime, hokum, blues, comedy and vaudeville. Jack Amblin percussion vocals, tap dancing, Martin Roper, guitar and vocals

Ben Powling Quartet - Wednesday Aug 5, 6-7.15pm: Contemporary jazz group featuring Word Service Project frontman Ben Powling on sax with Ben Haskins guitar Sam Quintana bass Josh Smout drums

Pay as you feel - rush hour jazz in the open air in Seven Arts Courtyard - fully distanced, table service.

Weather permitting of course, so if there is any doubt please check our web page or the Seven Arts web page .

Stay safe, stay cool!
