Swanage Jazz Festival 2020
Friday 10 – Sunday 12 July
Heres part of the press release from Swanage Jazz Festival:

Some of you have been contacting us asking about the dates, the Festival line up and when tickets will be on sale.  We can’t tell you as much as we’d like to as we are awaiting a decision on an Arts Council grant application which is critical to our plans.  We expected to hear just before Christmas but were then told we won’t get a decision until the second week of January.
We plan to build the 2020 Festival back towards the scale that you will remember from the past. We are intending to bring around 50 top quality bands to Swanage plus a free Fringe programme, but we cannot confirm the line up until we’ve heard from the Arts Council.  And we cannot get the tickets on sale until we can confirm the line up.
But it won’t be long now.
What we can confirm:
The Sunday night headliner will be The Simon Spillett Big Band Plays The Music of Tubby Hayes and we’ve been told the 18 piece band will include Alan Barnes, Art Themen, Pete Long, Henry Lowther, Mark Nightingale, Ian Bateman, Alec Dankworth and Clark Tracey.
In addition:
We will be running a modest Friday programme including the Jazz train and Dance at Harman’s Cross Hall

We will have a meeting point with fantastic views for you all, similar to the old days, close to the main venue where you can meet old friends, mingle, get a drink and enjoy the view.

We have left a programming gap between around 6.30pm and 8pm each day, so you can enjoy a meal without missing anything.

The programme will feature a wide range of jazz from the 1920s to the current day including some of the names you have enjoyed in the past and some newer ‘emerging talent’.

Ticket prices
If all goes to plan, ticket prices will be £98 for a weekend stroller (Fri-Sun) and £65 for a day stroller.  There may be one or two modest ticket supplements in addition for particular popular acts and these tickets will only be available to weekend and day stroller ticket purchasers in the first instance.  The weekend and day stroller prices are more than in 2019 but less than the 2018 prices.
Weekend and Day Stroller Tickets will be available online, but not yet, from our website and will also be available in person from the Swanage Tourist Information Centre and by post – details to follow.
There will be a maximum of 750 weekend and day stroller tickets available.
We expect to be able to email you with much more detail in the very near future.  Look out for those details.
We hope to see you all in Swanage this Summer!
