Wild Card - Beast From The East - February 2020 Release

Following the success of “Life stories”, critically acclaimed Clément Régert's Wild Card have recorded their new album featuring a signature blend of tuneful numbers with a wide variety of hard-bop, Afro/Samba & raw funk grooves that has made them so popular on the UK and European Jazz scene in the last few years.

The New Wild Card album “Beast from the East” is the fruit of 3 recording sessions over the past 2 years: 2x recording sessions at Eastcote studios and 1x recording session for SoulandJazzLive tv in partnership with Sennheiser.


They have been joined for those occasions by friends and prestigious special guests:


  • Grammy award winner Tenor saxophonist Tim Garland (Chick Corea)
  • Rising stars saxophonist Duncan Eagle (Partikel) & trombonist Rosie Turton (Nerija)
  • Swedish vocalist Emilia Martensson (Kairos 4tet) & famous soul/funk songstress Imaani (Incognito)
  • South African Harmonica virtuoso Adam Glasser (Sting, Hugh Masekela)
  • Portuguese Percussionist Joao Caetano (Incognito, Citrus sun) &

Will Fry (The lion king musical, Roy Ayers)

  • Top European trombonists Alistair White (Billy Cobham) & Barnaby Dickinson (London horns, Guy Barker)
  • Regulars of the Wild Card line ups, multi-award winner, saxophonist Denys Baptiste (McCoy Tyner), Trumpet virtuoso Graeme Flowers (Manu Katche) and fiery alto saxophonist Jim Knight (CeeLo Green).

All backed up by the "organ trio" powerhouse of the group, French guitarist/band leader Clément Régert, Australian organist Andrew Noble and drummer Sophie Alloway are stalwarts of the European jazz clubs and festivals.

The album is set for release in February 2020 - with a laubch night evening at the 606 Club, London on Thursday 6th February
